Why olives, why Tunisia

The Right Tree, in the Right Country

In the 2025/26 season Tunisia produced a record ~500,000 tonnes of olive oil β€” the world's second-largest producer, behind only Spain, according to the International Olive Council. Around 80% of its production is organic, and olives account for more than half of the country's agricultural exports.

Yet the trees themselves are aging, and replanting is exactly the kind of long-horizon investment small farmers can rarely afford alone. That's the gap this project exists to fill β€” one seedling at a time.
